*The name Vaidya Narayana Murthy Narasipura was famous across and outside of India for Cancer Treatment.*
A humble, simple living native doctor who used to give herbal medicines which was passed on to him by his ancestors. He had to face many issues due to the visiting of thousands of patients.
*He used to say that the components needed for his medicine were derived from medicinal plants not huge trees in the forest. It was his vast knowledge of plants and forests, that he used to say even if we distribute medicines to the whole world, these forests are not going to be emptied.*
But out of sheer jealousy, many people filed false cases like destruction of forest, harming the environment etc against the Vaidya ji, in National Green tribunal. These allegations held no valid ground and were dismissed. Also, many filed false complaints against him for no reason.
*Vaidya ji thrived to save the traditional knowledge along with conserving the forests. It's sad that jealousy clouded the eyes of some people who indulged in filing false complaints and making baseless allegations.*
His ancestors who were royal doctors, migrated from kumbhakonam, Tamilnadu to Karnataka to serve the kings of Kadamaba dynasty.
He belongs to the lineage of these royal doctors.
Vaidyaji had seen extreme poverty as a kid. His father passed away when the Vaidyaji was 7 years old. His mother had passed away before the demise of his father. His elder sister looked after him.
Post the untimely death of his father, though his uncle was looking after the household, some people obtained an order to forfeit the property belonging to vaidyaji's family by producing a promissory note containing his father's sign. This was 70 years ago, when 7000 rs was a huge amount.The whole family decided that, they will let go of the property and start a small hotel near Aaayanur, Shimoga. At that time, his elder sister gave their mother's ornaments to her uncle for selling so that they can secure the amount to save their ancestral property.
However, they were short of 2000 rupees to the loan amount, they sold the silverwares belonging to their mother and sought help from maternal uncles. vaidyaji recalled this when he purchased those silverware from the family to which they sold during their hardship.
*As a kid, as a teenager he used to roam around the forests with herders searching for various medicinal plants. His wife remembers that relatives used to make fun of this.*
yogi Sri Sridhara Swamiji stayed in Vaidyaji's home when vaidyaji was a young boy. He visited their village on the behest of the villagers. They invited the swamiji as there were numerous fire accidents every year.
*He visited the village temple amd touched the statue of god and assured the villagers that such fire mishaps will not happen in the future. While leaving, Sri Sridhara Swamiji blessed the vaidyaji, saying that this boy will become a renowned ayurvedic pandit. This became true.*
My father and vaidyaji were very close friends. *My father gave a cash collection box to his medicine center, vaidyaji had kept the box till date in the memory of my father.*
I consider it as my good fortune that i could get to know him, and he let me in the circle of his close people.
Due to this proximity, he relied on me to communicate with people as an interpreter. *This helped me in knowing many knowledgeable people and learning about the medical treatments provided in other nations.*
There are thousands of memories to share related to the medicinal miracle of Vaidyaji, Houston cardiologic hospital's head of the department used to visit vaidyaji for the treatment of his wife, 13 year old Austin who hailed from Canada got completely healed from Brain Cancer, are the striking ones.
*A Bangalore man had an inoperable tumor in his brain. Reports from tata memorial hospital and HCG labs suggested the same. The whole family thought of committing suicide, as this was incurable. A close family friend got them to visit vaidyaji and that tumor disappeared within the span of one year.*
I have witnessed this, the whole report is with me. People survived leukaemia from this treatment.
At the time when indians are not believing in ayurveda, vaidyaji' s treatment stood as a miracle, last strand of hope for desperate families.
As vaidyaji became renowned for his work, many people resort to give all sorts of trouble. He used to say that if anyone else was in his place, that person would have left everything.
*His only son Mr. Raghavendra as a rightful heir and being trained with the traditional knowledge by his father has obtained the training to continue the treatment*.
Narasipura became famous because of Vaidya Narayana Murthy. His treatment holds the major share in Anandapuram's economic growth. He is remembered for his selfless service.
As much as we are saddened by his demise, *we pray for his soul, may he rest in peace.*
